Horizon Hotel Subic Review:Prince's 2nd Birthday

Looking for a place to stay can be so hard especially if you have a tight budget. My most favorite hotel booking site is Agoda, Travelbook and for other types of accommodation, I look through Airbnb.

For my son's birthday, I planned everything. I think ganun naman karamihan ng mga mommies. Sila yung madalas magplano when it comes to celebration and outings. At yung accommodation ang medyo critical kasi I have to check if it's kid-friendly. Kung gaano ang layo sa mga pupuntahan namen at kung budget-friendly.

Sa mga mommies na madalas magbook ng hotel, they know how expensive to book for 4 people, pano pa kaya yung samen na 8 people. So medyo nastress ako ng konti while planning this. Good thing, I found Horizon Hotel.

Horizon Hotel is 21.5 km (32 mins) away from Ocean Adventure and 19.4 km (32 mins) away from Zoobic Safari. I tried to check Camayan Beach Resort para makapasyal kami sa beach pero fully booked na sila agad. One thing I like with Horizon Hotel, they have a family room and allowed as 8 people to stay in one room. Nag add lang kami ng ₱600/head including na yung free breakfast kasi ang nabayaran ko lang is for 5 person (12 yrs.old and below is free of charge).

I booked their Family Room VIP. 2 bedroom consists of 2 king beds, 3 LED television with cable channels, 2 bathrooms, a sofa, which can fit up to 5-6 people, they have working tables and chairs, minibar/mini-refrigerator, free bottled water, in-room safe/vault, toiletries and telephone. Hair-dryer and electric kettle is upon request.

This is our room.

The second room.

The living room.

The room is spacious and surprisingly big enough for us. Before going to bed, we had a feast for my son's birthday. We sang him Happy Birthday song which he really liked and ate our dinner. My parents bought some food from the supermarket and nearby fast food.

The next morning, we woke up and ate our breakfast at the restaurant located on the ground floor. They asked our choice of food and served it with iced tea or coffee.

After we ate our delicious breakfast, we made our early check out to go to Zoobic Safari. It was really a smooth transaction for check-in and check out. We never had a problem throughout our stay.

EXPENSES:

We paid ₱4,560 for 5 person with free breakfast (booked through Agoda).
₱600/head for additional person with free breakfast.
Parking is free of charge.

PROS:

🏨  Affordable and budget-friendly
🏨 Rooms are big and spacious
🏨 Easy transaction. Didn't have any issue with check-in and check out
🏨 Hotel accommodation comes with free breakfast
🏨 Near the tourist destination like Ocean Adventure, Zoobic Safari etc.

CONS:

🏨  Location is quite hard to spot on.
We used Waze but the direction is not clear.
Also there are places where you can't just U-turn or Enter.
Subic Freeport Zone is very strict with road policies.
🏨  AC/air-conditioner doesn't cool that much
🏨 No amenities (such as pool, gym, etc.)

Overall I recommend Horizon Hotel for big group or families need a place to stay in Subic Bay Freeport especially if you are planning to visit Ocean Adventure and Zoobic Safari. We are happy with our stay and totally approved and recommended.
